Why Is Your Website Not Ranking Inspite of SEO ?
Why Is Your Website Not Ranking Inspite of SEO ? |
Gone are the
days when ranking on search engines was easy. It was easily possible by having
great title tags and headings, putting in lots of keywords and having a perfect
meta description. But, with the increasing intelligence of Google, evolution of
SEO and competitive websites, it is becoming difficult to show up on the first
and even second pages of Google. There may be a lot many reasons but, we will
discuss here the few main reasons your site might not be ranking well in spite
of all your SEO efforts.
Fresh in the market
If you have
just recently built up your website, then you cannot expect yourself to be in
the top results. Ranking on search engines takes time. If your site is new,
give it enough time to index. In the meantime, try doing everything that can
help you rank higher like writing unique and good quality content, putting in
keywords, adding relevant images and everything else to optimize your site
better. If after quite some time, you are not ranking well, then there must be
some other issue you are facing. Check for the below mentioned points to see if
you are lacking in any of these areas.
Content issues
Content writing is the most important thing in terms of SEO. Having the right
kind of content on your site increases your chances of higher ranking in SERPs.
But, it is important to remember that you must have quality content.
Copy-pasting from other sources is a no-no. Try creating unique content that
makes you stand apart from the others in the market. In fact, if duplicate
content is found, you will be penalized by Google and hence, result in a bad
name. Quality content will itself bring up quantity for you.
Lack of links
If you are
lacking backlinks, you may not be able to rank higher on SERPs. Backlinks or
inbound links are links that direct to your website. You need to have good
quality links to point to your website. It isn’t easy to get them but, you must
always keep trying. A few ways you can get them are as follows: Link to other
blogs of the same criteria as you, post your content on other popular blogs,
write blogs on content that people are interested, include relevant info
graphics, videos, images and audios on your pages, and write press releases
about your company’s information to gain recognition.
Localization
If you are
into a Local Business or if you serve products or services in a particular
area, you must localize your SEO and let the search engines know of your
location so that you rank well in local search results. People are shifting
towards online shopping for every big and small purchase but, that does not
mean they are not searching for local results. They are still finding
restaurants, malls, doctors, hospitals and more in their local areas. So, if
you are into a local service, make sure to let the search engines know so they
can consider you when users search locally for something. In order to increase
your local presence, you can add your location in your meta data and your content.
Also, make sure to claim your Google+ business page.
If you find
it difficult to keep your website up to the mark for higher rankings, you can
hire SEO Services from companies that are well experienced in this field.

Facebook is testing new tags for your profile page
Have you ever looked at your Facebook profile page and lamented that the one thing it was missing was — profile tags? You know, like the ones on LinkedIn that purport to list your professional skills so colleagues and potential employers can instantly see what you are good at?
Well, evidently Facebook has come around to thinking that such tags are desirable for your personal profile, and The Verge reported that it’s already testing the concept on accounts in New Zealand.
Facebook, in responding to TNW’s request for additional information, offered some insight as to the goal and mission of the new tags. A Facebook spokesperson elaborated on the idea:
In addition to the standard ways of letting people know who you are on your Facebook profile, profile tags let you express your identity in a more informal way. We believe that friends can also add a unique perspective to who you are and what makes you special that you may not even think about putting on your profile.
For example, when you introduce friends to each other, you might share a unique characteristic or something they might have in common, like “…Connie is an avid cyclist too!”
This strengthens bonds between friends and helps Connie’s new friends learn something interesting about her. Now you can do this on Facebook too: compliment your friends, make your friendship even stronger and help others learn interesting and fun facts about your friends.
And like LinkedIn, you can assign tags to yourself, or your friends can assign them at your approval. And being Facebook, you can create whatever tag you want — you won’t have to pick from a set list. You can even use emoji — and that will likely be the kicker.
And just like all other things people add to your timeline, this will be yet another occasion for a Facebook notification. Yay.
If you don’t like a tag, then you don’t have to approve it. Or you can just leave it hanging and its presence will remain your secret — only you and the tagger will see it until you decisively refuse it.
There’s no word yet on when #Facebook will be testing or rolling out the new profile tags elsewhere. Said the Facebook spokesperson, “[We have] no specific timelines to share about when folks in the U.S. could start seeing this or how long the initial test in New Zealand might run.”
“We’re hoping to learn as much as we can from the test and see how people in New Zealand use it before we roll out more broadly,” the Facebook source said.
